Help learners to make as-fast-as-possible progress toward different types of fluency in Japanese, including speaking, writing, reading, and listening/understanding.

Help learners to use their Japanese knowledge to improve their lives.

That includes but is not limited to:

• Making new connections with other people.
• Creating new opportunities in life, work, school, etc.
• Creating success in life, work, school, etc.
• Having a better experience when visiting or living in Japan.
• Changing the way people think and process information for the better.
• etc.

In other words, our mission is to help learners to learn Japanese more quickly, and then help them to use that knowledge to make their lives better.

In everything we do, we should be supporting “The Mission” as much as we can. That means making choices and prioritizing so that we can make as much mission progress as possible. Sometimes we have to do things that don’t progress the mission in order to progress it more overall, but that’s where one’s judgement comes in.

The Company often has large, long-term goals, which should support the mission. Teams have mission(s) and goals, too. These should support the Company’s goals, which supports the mission. Roles, OKRs, and individuals all eventually lead to the mission as well. In other words, all paths lead to the mission.

The Tofugu Mission can (and will) change, too. The Long Term Plan outlines some of this already.
