Tofugu is mainly a Roles-Based Organization. Each role has a mission they answer to, as well as a team they are a part of. But, roles do have control over how they do their work and achieve those missions.

Tying all this together are the and roles. These roles coordinate teams and their roles toward achieving the company’s goals and missions.

All this adds up to not a lot of hierarchy, though there is some hierarchy that occurs via coordination roles. Some teams may have a Team Lead role that acts as a coordinator for the team’s roles. Although these roles exist to coordinate, they don’t micromanage or tell roles how to do their job, making them less like a typical manager.
