Tofugu is mainly a Roles-Based Organization. Each role has a mission they answer to, as well as a team they are a part of. But, roles do have control over how they do their work and achieve those missions.

Tying all this together are the ‣ and ‣ roles. These roles coordinate teams and their roles toward achieving the company’s goals and missions.

All this adds up to not a lot of hierarchy, though there is some hierarchy that occurs via coordination roles. Some teams may have a Team Lead role that acts as a coordinator for the team’s roles. Although these roles exist to coordinate, they don’t micromanage or tell roles how to do their job, making them less like a typical manager.
