We recently introduced Today’s Lessons & Lesson Picker which limits the number of Lessons we recommend people to do each day to batch size x 3. This number was just our guess at what we think most people will be able to handle, but it is a rough estimate at best. To allow all learners to set the exact number of Lessons they would like to do each day, we have now separated Today’s Lessons and the lesson batch size by adding a new setting.

On the App Setting, there’s a new section called “Maximum Recommended Daily Lessons”. You can choose any number from 0 to 100, and it won’t be affected by the number you’ve selected in your “Preferred lesson batch size”. If you choose 0 for your “Maximum Recommended Daily Lessons”, you will not see any Lessons on the main Dashboard, but you can still do them from Advanced Lessons.

Q. Why change this? It was fine as it was! A. For example, some people wanted to do 15 lessons, but spread out over 5 batches throughout the day, to fit their schedule better. Others felt comfortable doing 9 items in one batch, but 27 Lessons per day led to way too many Reviews. This change lets you set the exact number of Today’s Lessons that works best for you, and you don’t need to change your batch size unless you want to.

Q. I changed my batch size from 5 to 10, expecting Today’s Lessons to change to 30, but Today’s Lessons is still showing 15. Why? A. We’re no longer calculating your Today’s Lessons number based on your batch size. But you can go to App Settings and change the Maximum Recommended Daily Lessons to 30 if you want to.

Q. Will updating my batch size have any effect on my Today’s Lessons number? A. Nope, not anymore. Please adjust them separately.
