Tofugu is nowhere. We are a Remote First company with no HQ or central time zone.

Technically Tofugu does have a tiny office for legal purposes, but nobody really uses it.

If anyone asks you where Tofugu is located, you can just look far off into the distance and say “I guess the company I work at has just been in my heart this whole time...”

A remote company doesn’t mean we just do all the regular company and office things we’d normally do, but at home. It requires completely different processes and expectations.

What does that mean, from a practical standpoint?

We’re Remote First.

We’re Async First.

We’re Documentation First.

We try to do things in a way that are as equal as possible for any time zone.

We are proactive and get things done without waiting for permission (i.e. without waiting for the sun to come up on the other side of the Earth).

A remote company solves some problems while causing some new ones. Hopefully we cover all the biggest ones (and some of the medium sized ones) in The Tofugu Handbook.
